Brazil: Thousands Turn Out For 'Lula Livre' Festival In Rio

At least 60,000 Brazilians congregated in the streets of Rio de Janeiro on Saturday to show their support for embattled former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva as more than 40 artists put on a dazzling display for the ‘Lula Livre’ festival.

Exhibitions, live performances and cultural workshops dominated the day’s agenda as people of all ages joined together to call for Lula to be released from prison, where he is serving a 12-year sentence for corruption despite no evidence ever having been submitted.
