After a very wet 36 hours for the southeast, rain clears away southeastwards throughout the night – leaving a clear and cool picture.

The very far southeastern tip of England may hang on to some early cloud and patchy rain first thing on Thursday but elsewhere it will be a beautiful start to the day – clear blue skies for many.

Dry with sunny spells for everyone into the afternoon and a high of 21C – although cloud will start to thicken from the northwest ahead of the next approaching frontal system.

A northwest/southeast split in conditions is expected on Friday but dry and bright for most throughout the weekend.
