A band of cloud and rain will sink slowly southwards on Thursday, with drier and brighter skies developing across Scotland.

There will be sunshine and showers for England and Wales ahead of this rain band, and the showers will be occasionally heavy, with the risk of
hail and thunder.

For most it will feel cool in the northerly wind, with a top temperature of 16 Celsius (61 F).
