Washington's top diplomat began his first Africa tour by meeting with the African Union chief, who said the continent had moved on from a reported insult by President Donald Trump. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson was fired in the early hours of today Tuesday, March 13, 2018. The secretary of state let the world know that the president himself, who enjoyed firing people in a dramatic fashion on his old reality TV show “The Apprentice”, did not do the job of letting Tillerson go himself. This is startling to many perhaps Trump didn’t have the spine to do the job himself. Also, Tillerson is unaware of why he was let go, stating that, regardless of this fact, he was happy to have the opportunity to serve. Mike Pompeo will be filling the position of Secretary of State. Trump claims “He gets along well with Mike Pompeo; I respect his intellect”  The decision was his alone on firing Mr. Rex Tillerson whom he has been quoted calling “a moron”. Mike Pompeo was the director of the CIA, now he has to take on a whole new role for the country he has served for some time now.

Following this Donald Trump has also let go of his assistant, John McEntee. The reason for this is also in a general sense unknown. Connections to the Russia investigation perhaps, yet an allegation of this magnitude is unfair and unjustified. Seeing as there were no connections found by the Mueller investigation, papers are to be released regarding the evidence of this issue. Therefore, the listed reason for McEntee’s removal is listed as an unspecified security issue. This firing took place on Monday, March 12, 2018.

The shift of control in Trumps white house will be interesting to keep track of. Seeing how these new players will contribute to the law and order of things on Capitol Hill.
