Outbreaks of persistent and sometimes heavy rain will move eastwards across Wales and much of central and southern England during the day. Further north, there will be sunshine and heavy showers, though Northern Ireland will stay mainly dry.
Rain in the south will continue this evening but showers further north will ease. The rain will gradually clear from the southwest but continue all night in the southeast.
After early rain clears from the far southeast, Wednesday will be dry and bright for everyone, with light winds and a fair amount of sunshine, especially near the coast.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Sunshine and scattered showers at first, giving way to cloudier weather with outbreaks of rain by Saturday. Cooler for most, but becoming warm and humid again in the south later.
